BETTER BREAKFAST MONTH!

September is the better breakfast month! Are you grumbling yet? Bah Humbug you say to rising any earlier than you have to in order to do the million things you have to do in a day's work? Well, what if I told you getting up just ten minutes earlier to throw your overnight oats in the microwave while you brushed your teeth, inhale a hardboiled egg you cooked on your Sunday food prep day, and tossed down that half a pink grapefruit as grabbed your keys and ran out the door for the day's rat race could be a game changer for your health, energy, and metabolism?

People who make time to grab some grub and get it in them before the day gets started have proven to burn twice as many calories in a day's time, curb sweet cravings throughout the day, and have more sustainable energy than those who don’t. Does taking those fewer extra minutes now sound appetizing? What if you also knew that it improves your brain function and blood sugar levels? Wait a second you say, just eating a few calories in the AM can change my life this much? Yes, it is true! So, what’s the catch you say? Well, the catch is, as with anything…making the time to make it happen! So, here are some quick, easy breakfast foods that can enhance your health and well being, not consume you in the kitchen, and feed the whole family so your minimal time for breakfast is maximized!

Option #1: Overnight Oats-1/2 cup old fashion oatmeal, ½ cup of coconut milk (or other milk of your preference), stevia sweetener and refrigerate overnight in an airtight container. Wake, open, Throw on some blueberries and chow down

Option #2: 3 hardboiled eggs, eat one whole egg and 2 of the egg whites

Option 3: The combo! Put one cracked egg in a coffee mug with a cup of oatmeal, ½ cup coconut milk and microwave.

Option #4 Ninja time. 2 scoops high quality whey protein, water, ice, 1 cup berries of your choice and blend- Voila!

And easy peasy Option #5- 1 medium grapefruit, 3/4 cup plain 2% fat Greek yogurt, 1 tablespoon almond butter, 1 teaspoon honey, 10 almonds, chopped

So, while losing a few extra minutes of sleep might seem daunting just to throw some grub in your grill, it will pay off tenfold when you see that trimmer, healthier waistline making its debut again!

Supplements and How to Choose

A few things to start this off: Supplements should NOT be taken unless your sleep, nutrition, training & recovery are already very good. The people who think that a supplement will “kick start” them,

Supplements, which ones might work for you?

Which supplements a person takes should depend on them and their needs. Too many times people give recommendations based on the awesome results they got, which is great and something to celebrate, but
